Location: Neenah, WI


Position Purpose: This position is responsible for safely handling all saw cut duties for the plant and assisting in the receipt of incoming deliveries and preparation of outgoing shipments and the loading and unloading of trucks.


Significant Internal and External Working Relationships: Works with Shipper/Receiver, Production Manager, and hourly team members from various work centers on a regular basis. Has occasional contact with customers and regular contact with transportation contractors.

Works with other members of the plant team on a daily basis. Expected to work in a team environment, actively contributing to the overall success of the company

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be part of overall safety plan through involvement, ownership and participation in making plant safer.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Package materials for shipment.
  • Operation of the metal cut-off saws, radial arm saw, power saws and nail guns.
  • Operate a clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Conduct basic maintenance on above mentioned equipment.
  • Properly report materials used.
  • Order of basic shop supplies.
  • Proper time reporting of labor using computer kiosk.
  • Load and unload materials received and shipped using a forklift and/or hand pallet jack.
  • Provide backup to Shipper/Receiver as needed including arranging for shipments using UPS, FedEx, DHL, LTL, FTL, and small package carriers and prepare required shipping documents.
  • Pull and deliver parts for machining and assembly operations in accordance with routings and prints.
  • Empty the recycling and garbage containers. Coordinate container pickups with outside contractors.
  • Maintain steel rack inventories and post steel pick lists.
  • Cycle count the steel rack and other work centers and areas of the plant as assigned.
  • Work with other team members.
  • Maintain excellent attendance for scheduled workdays.
  • Continue to learn and develop personally.
  • Ability to learn and become reasonably proficient with our ERP (Syteline Insite, Echo)
  • Other tasks as may be assigned by supervisor.


Requirements/Experience:

  • Safe forklift operation. Existing forklift license ideal.
  • Safely operate overhead crane with safe and proper load management.
  • Basic Math (+, -, *, /)
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic drawings
  • Use of basic packaging tools (tape measure, pneumatic staple/nail gun, wrenches and bander)
  • Ability to learn Syteline ERP system
  • Lifting within OSHA guidelines
  • Basic wood working skills to make skids, boxes, and crates
  • Basic packaging skills
  • Able to read and write work instructions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of shipping software or ability to learn.

Appleton Manufacturing Division is seeking a team member to join our Assembly Department as an Assembly / Service Technician for our location in Neenah, WI. If you want to be a part of the success while increasing your skills, this is the place for you!


Position Summary:This position is responsible for safely assembling, testing, and troubleshooting company products in accordance with routings, work instructions, drawings and specifications. This role will share in-field service duties with the other team members to support our installed base of products. Position requires about 10-15% travel, including domestic overnight travel. International travel/service support experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembling products per routings, work instructions, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Testing/evaluating/documenting assembled products prior to shipment.
  • Troubleshoot installed Appleton products with customers via phone, computer, and in person.
  • Train Customer employees on operation and maintenance of Appleton products/systems.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Approximately 10-15% overnight travel required to support machine startups, maintenance, and training at customer locations.


Requirements/Experience:

  • Strong ability to comprehend Engineering drawings (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic) and work instructions. General computer skills required.
  • Must have a degree in an electrical/electro-mechanical field and/or minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Must have working understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Must have working understanding of electrical circuits and wiring practices.
  • Must have strong understanding of PLCs, HMI’s and Drives.
  • Must have experience with or general understanding of PLC ladder logic.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Ideal candidate will have a background in Allen Bradley controls.
